Jorell Miller
Jorell has extensive experience playing volleyball, 19 years of playing experience and 7 years of competitive volleyball. During his time as a player, he spent 2 years playing club volleyball in the OVA. His highest level of play was during his 2 years of post-secondary play, where he served as captain for 1 year and earned recognition as a member of the all-rookie team, as well as first and second team all-star. Jorell was trained by Jeff Chung, a setter and coaching professional with the National Coaching Certification Program who serves as the director of Tops Volleyball Academy.
In addition to Jorell playing experience, he has 1 year of experience as an assistant coach for both 15u boys and 14u girls with Unity Sports. In 2018, I had the opportunity to represent Canada in an Iceland tournament, where his team placed 3rd. His approach to setting takes a unique and unorthodox approach, emphasizing the “art” of setting and incorporating the mental and psychological aspects of volleyball into training. Jorell believes that this approach translates not only to better performance on the court, but also to the development of
well-rounded human beings off the court.
