Our Elementary School Program is for Kindergarten to Grade 6 students.

The King Heights Academy elementary school program is dedicated to developing students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being, focusing on international-mindedness and strong personal values. The Five Essential Elements of Our Elementary School Program

The elementary school program curriculum framework consists of five essential elements that young students need to equip them for successful lives both now and in the future.

Concept-Based Learning

Concept-based learning is about big, transferable ideas that transcend time, place, and situation. This approach focuses on making sense of those facts and the world around us.

THE 8 KEY CONCEPTS

RESPONSIBILITY

What is our responsibility? People make choices based on their understanding and the actions they take as a result do make a difference.

REFLECTION

How do we know? There are different ways of knowing and it is important to look at our conclusions and think about our reasoning and the evidence we have used.

FUNCTION

How does it work? Everything has a purpose, a role, or a way of behaving that can be investigated.

CAUSATION

Why is it like this? Things do not just happen. There are always reasons behind events. This is cause and effect.

PERSPECTIVE

What are the points of view? Different ways of looking at information. This leads to different interpretations, understandings, and findings.

CHANGE

How is it changing? Everything is always in a state of transformation from one state to another. This happens to everything and everyone.

CONNECTION

What is the link to other things? The universe is a collection of systems made of individual parts that work with and affect each other.

FORM

What is it like? Everything has features or characteristics that can be observed, identified, described, and categorized.
