The Three Essential Elements of Our Middle Years School Program

Our Middle Years School Program empowers students to tackle a range of local, national, and global issues and ideas. As a result, we develop young people who are creative, critical, and reflective thinkers, whose focus lies in their personal understanding of the world and the development of their emerging sense of self and responsibility in their community.

TEACHING & LEARNING

Using a global approach, students develop an understanding of their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet. All teaching and learning focuses on the exploration of:

  • Identities and relationships
  • Personal and cultural identity
  • Orientations in space and time
  • Scientific and technical innovation
  • Fairness and development
  • Globalization and sustainability

ACTION THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE

Students take action when they apply what they are learning in the classroom and beyond. We strive to create caring members of the community who demonstrate a commitment to service and make a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment.

INCLUSION & LEARNING DIVERSITY

We address inclusion and diversity within our written, taught, and assessed curriculum, as well as our teaching environment. We have created and implemented an inclusion/ special educational needs (SEN) policy that explains assessment access arrangements, classroom accommodations, and curriculum modification that meet individual student learning needs.
